16 June, Kathmandu. Health and Population Minister Pradeep Yadav has addressed the 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva. During his speech, Minister Yadav informed that Nepal is working in the field of health of the citizens while strengthening the health system.
‘Despite many challenges, Nepal has made progress in the health sector,’ he said during his speech, ‘after the lessons learned by the Covid epidemic, we are committed to working together with global, regional and national agencies and organizations to strengthen Nepal’s health system. ‘
At the health conference organized by the central office of the World Health Organization, Minister Yadav thanked WHO for its services in saving the lives of people around the world for the past 76 years and spoke about Nepal’s health.

In the conference, Minister Yadav said that he had learned many lessons from the Covid epidemic and said that the work is progressing well to have more robust healthcare facilities in Nepal and to deal with health emergencies and future epidemics.
Informing that Nepal has ensured health as a fundamental right from the constitution, he said that the government is committed to provide good health services to the Nepali people.
Minister Yadav informed that Nepal has made significant progress in the area of average life expectancy along with maternal and child health in the last two decades and said that the work is being carried forward by giving priority to the health sector.
In the program, Minister Yadav informed that although there has been general progress in the overall results of health, there is no uniformity in all sectors of the society, so we need to be aware of it.

There are gaps and challenges,” Minister Yadav said during his address, “Especially equity gaps and challenges still exist in the areas of access to health including vaccination. But we will continue to work to increase access with quality healthcare delivery, keeping equity at the center.’
