No injustice to builders: Chief Minister Shah

Kailali. The Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province Kamal Bahadur Shah has said that no injustice will be allowed to the construction professionals in Sudurpaschim Province.

At the opening ceremony of the 17th annual general meeting of the Sudurpaschim Province Construction Professionals Association held today in Dhangadhi, he expressed his belief that he is ready to amend the laws and regulations within his jurisdiction and make procedures to move forward.

Chief Minister Shah said that he has given clear instructions that the construction workers and companies who have completed the work, the liabilities have been created and the payment is yet to be made, should be paid. He said that even though the state government is trying to work, we are not able to move forward due to the conflicting of some federal laws and regulations.

He made it clear that the government will not discourage construction businesses. Chief Minister Shah asked the builders to come to him for discussion and editing at any time.

Minister of State for Economic Affairs Prakash Bahadur Bam said that the construction businessmen of Sudurpaschim province have evaluated the government as a supportive character for the development of Sudurpaschim.

Ravi Singh, the central president of the Nepal Construction Business Federation, expressed his belief that the government will pass the construction business bill as soon as possible in the House, and in order to advance the prosperity and development of the country, the Public Procurement Act will be amended and the Construction Industry Friendly Act will be obtained.

In the event, the president of Sudurpaschim Province Construction Business Federation, Laxman Kishore Swaran, emphasized that the state should address the problems seen in the construction business association.

The opening ceremony of the general meeting was attended by the district presidents of all the nine districts of Sudurpaschim Province, the secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the assistant chief district officer, the president of Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry, media personnel and others.
