Morang . Chief Minister of Koshi Province Hikmat Kumar Karki has said that scouts should act in a spirit of service towards the nation and society.
On the occasion of the 60th Children’s Day organized by Nepal Scout Koshi Province in Biratnagar today, in the ‘Child Minister with Children’ program, he emphasized that scouts in every school and municipality should carry out awareness campaign to prevent distortions, disharmony, drug addiction and bad habits in the society.
Chief Minister Karki urged the volunteers of Scouts to civilize the society and expressed the commitment of the government to provide necessary support for the expansion and development of Scouts. He asked to contribute to the protection of people’s wealth during natural calamities and fires in the country.
Chief Minister Karki also instructed the Ministry of Social Development for necessary monitoring to stop smoking, sale and distribution of alcohol around schools. He mentioned that the government has introduced policies and programs for the growth of industry and agricultural production and export promotion to create a model province within two/three years.
Minister of Social Development, Panch Karna Rai, while urging people to join in building the nation with mind, words and deeds, expressed commitment to follow up with necessary plans to improve the educational environment of the school.
On that occasion, the scout children asked various questions to Chief Minister Karki. Children belonging to scouts from different districts of the state participated in the program.
