Kathmandu . President Ramchandra Paudel said that there is a lot of potential for adventure sports in Nepal and has called for a message to be sent to the international world in this regard.
While welcoming the sports journalists and officials who came to Kathmandu from various countries to participate in the Asian Sports Journalists’ Association (AIPS Asia) Congress at Rashtrapati Bhavan Sheetal Niwas, President Paudel called upon Nepal to promote Nepal in the world sports arena as it is a fertile country of sports and athletes.
President Paudel said, “There is a lot of potential for adventure and high altitude sports, ultra running in Nepal. Nepalese athletes have written their names in the Guinness Book of Everest Marathon. Palesa Govardhan said that he made the country proud by winning a medal in Taekwondo at the recently held Para Olympics in Paris.
President Paudel said that it is necessary to convey the message that Nepal is not only the birthplace of Everest and Buddha, but also a sports field to the world community. He praised AIPS Asia for establishing a good tradition by continuously honoring the best players of the nation.
