Kathmandu. The Kage Ashtami festival celebrated every year on the day of Bhadra Shukla Ashtami is being celebrated today at Kageshwari Mahadev Temple.
On this occasion, it is believed that if you go to Kageshwari Mahadev Temple and worship, you will be freed from all evils, including the touch of a crow.
On the occasion of Shravan Shukla Purnima and Ganga Dussehra festival, there is also a tradition that the devotees who have reached Gosainkunda, the famous religious place of Rasuwa, should offer the water brought from there to Kageshwari today.
There is a popular belief that the religious journey will not be complete if those who reach Gosaikund do not go to Kageshwari today. Kageshwari Manehra 1 Shivpuri Nagarjuna National Park, which is important for historical, religious and touristic Kageshwari Mahadev Temple, has been crowded with devotees since early morning.
Mukund Gajurel, Ward President No. 1 of Kageshwari Manohara Municipality informed that it has been arranged to make it easy to go to the temple from Sundarijal, Dhakalgau, Alapate and Satghatte.
People from the three districts of Kathmandu valley as well as the nearby Nuwakot, Sindhupalchok, Kaverapalanchok, Rasuwa, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sindhuli and other districts gather to fill the fair held in Kageshwari.
