Businessmen should pay for the electricity they use: Energy Minister Khadka

Khandbari (Sankhuwasabha). Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka has said that the work of Upper Arun will start soon. In a press conference organized by Nepal Press Union Sankhuwasabha today in Khandbari, he informed that the work of Upper Arun will be started soon after securing the source. “I am taking initiatives to get local participation in the project by arranging loans at low interest rates for poor and disadvantaged families”, he said.

He says that he believes that every house in Sankhuwasabha should be guaranteed a share of Rs.5 lakh. He made it clear that this system of giving shares to poor and needy people will be established all over the country.

Minister Khadka mentioned that for building a prosperous Sankhuwasabha, maximum use of the water resources here should be made. He said that the government is working to solve the problems encountered during the construction of the project in the district. He mentioned that discussions are being held with the Chief District Officer of the concerned district to address the delay in the construction of the national transmission line in Koshi Corridor.

Energy Minister Khadka said, “The development of the country’s energy sector will be taken along with the private sector. The government has set a target of producing 28,500 megawatts of electricity in 10 years. The entire government is working towards this goal with determination. The remaining electricity will be increased by increasing domestic consumption to build a prosperous country. It will be exported abroad.”

He said that we can achieve the prosperity we are looking for only if we bring economically disadvantaged families to the mainstream. He said, “The reliable medium energy sector of the country’s economic sector, the government will work by making short-term and long-term plans for its development. “

Energy Minister Khadka stated that along with irrigation, electricity production has been promoted and said that it will help the people if electricity concessions can be given in government hospitals, schools, water supply and irrigation sectors. “When the electricity produced by the hydropower project is sold, a wrong comment has been created that the canal has been sold, it is necessary to tear it down”, he said.

Minister Khadka mentioned that since the Prime Minister’s directive is to carry out the work quickly, the Ministry has carried out the work accordingly. He said that since there is a discussion in the audit committee to solve the problems in the trunkline and dedicated electricity sector, it will be resolved soon. “Businessmen should pay for the electricity used”, he said.
