Kathmandu. Ganesh Chaturthi festival is celebrated today by worshiping Lord Ganesha.
It is believed that Lord Ganesha was born on the day of Bhadra Shukla Chaturthi in Satya Yuga. On this occasion, the festival was celebrated today in Ashokvinayak, Chandravinayak, Suryavinayak, Kamalvinayak, Dhanganesh, Jalvinayak, Karyakvinayak, Kamaladi Ganesha and other Ganesha temples across the country.
Ganesha, the son of Shiva Parvati, has the right to be worshiped in any religious activity. Prof. Dr. Devmani Bhattarai, a theologian and a member of the Nepal Panchang Adjudicatory Development Committee, said that there is a classical tradition of fasting to Ganesha by reciting the fast of Haritalika 9th Teej.
On the day of Bhadra Shukla Tritiya, Bertalu, who wishes for a happy married life and happiness, prays that the day of Chaturthi does not come to ruin, it is mentioned in the Ganesh Purana.
This festival is celebrated by Newar community as Chatha festival.
