Pokhara. In the current financial year 2080/081, Internal Revenue Office Pokhara has collected 5 billion 57 crore 55 lakh 21 thousand revenue. According to the office, the target of revenue collection of the office in the current year is 6.39 billion 47. The revenue collected from July to the end of June is 87.19 percent.
Shiv Sharma, chief tax officer of Internal Revenue Office Pokhara, said that the office has managed to increase its revenue by 7 percent compared to the previous year. He claimed that 349.5 million more revenue was collected than in the financial year 2079/080. In the fiscal year 2080/081, the Internal Revenue Office Pokhara has collected a total of 3.66 billion 87 million income tax, 1.73 billion 36 million value added tax and 1.66 million 67 million internal duties.
Chief Tax Officer Sharma said that due to the country’s economic recession, business could not flourish and its impact on revenue collection was somewhat difficult to achieve the annual target.
