According to Umesh Parajuli, project manager of Letro Power, representatives of the ‘sub-contractor’ company BMR Construction Pvt. Ltd., who took the contract for the construction of the project, and the ward chairman on behalf of the deceased’s family have signed a written agreement to provide financial assistance. An agreement has been reached to provide the aid amount within 15 days.
Both the deceased were working on the project on behalf of the contractor company. According to Parajuli, in the agreement, the company will deposit Rs. 7 lakh rupees per family and 1.5 lakh rupees will be provided for cash expenses.
It is also mentioned in the agreement that the education expenses of the children of the deceased up to the 12th standard will be borne, and the salary received by the deceased will be deposited in the family’s account during the construction period of the project. An agreement has been reached to provide employment to the deceased family members in the project.
According to the project manager Parajuli, one of the deceased families has a two-year-old daughter and the other family’s wife is pregnant, so the project will provide an additional one lakh rupees for nutritious food and care for the pregnant women.
They were crushed on the 21st of June when the cover slab of the project’s ‘descender basin’ slope collapsed.
