32 May, Kathmandu. National Open KDC of Hill Run organized by Nepal Adventure Running Federation is going to be held on June 8.
The federation held a press conference on Friday and informed that the program will be held after the new working committee of the federation.
The distance of the race will be 21 km, said Ekendra Kunwar, the president of the organizing federation, who is also a member of the Rakhep Executive Committee. Organizers said that more than 200 competitors will participate in the race.
The race will start from Maiti Resort at Charghar in Kirtipur and will pass through Bosandanda in Dakshinkali, Old Baghbhairav in Kirtipur, Pushpalal Park, Matkshegaon in Chandragiri, Matatirtha, Veksyapati in Kirtipur and will end at Maiti Resort. The participants will also climb about 3000 feet on the route of the race.
Federation General Secretary Subas Thapa informed that this race is a trail half marathon of Madhyam Berg.
Rajan Khatri, senior vice president of the organizing federation, informed that the top five players will receive cash prizes of 75,000, 50,000, 30,000, 20,000 and 10,000 respectively.
This race is divided into two categories, men and women.
For the convenience of the players, 6 water points, 6 check points and 3 medical points have been arranged along the route. According to the organizers, 65 volunteers and 8 bikes will be mobilized.
There are two registration fees for participation in the race. The name can be registered at Hotel Janak in Tripureshwar, EY Thakali Restaurant Baluwatar, Mira Rai Initiative Gokarneshwar, Maiti Resort, Charghare Kirtipur, National Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Center Balkumari Lalitpur.
To complete the competition successfully, a 7-member race management committee has been formed under the coordination of Surya Bahadur Budhathoki, a member of the federation. Similarly, Baburaja Shrestha, a member of the federation, has been given the responsibility of race director. According to the organizers, about 14 lakh 25 thousand rupees will be spent to run the race.
Chairman Ekendra Kunwar informed that after the formation of the new working committee of the federation, this race is going to be held for this financial year and various programs will be made for the next financial year.
