32 June, Gulmi. Balsingh Kauchha has been elected as the president of CPN-UML Gulmi district. Kauchha was elected for the second term with 384 votes. His competitor Hira AC got 202 votes.
Kauchha was elected unopposed to the post of president from the 11th district convention.
Voting was held on Thursday after no consensus was reached in the 12th district session which started last Tuesday. Out of 613 delegates participating in the convention, 595 participated in voting.
According to the election committee, Jeevan Kharel was elected as the vice president by getting 348 votes while his competitor Ganesh Sripali got 212 votes.
Shripali, who was elected unopposed as the secretary of the 11th district convention, contested for the position of vice president in the 12th district convention this time.
Dharma Vishwakarma won as secretary. Vishwakarma got 371 votes while his competitor Padam Aryal got 190 votes.
Chakrabandhu Bhusal was elected as joint secretary by getting 348 votes. His competitor Om Karki got 216 votes.
