31 May, Kathmandu. Karnali province has won the double title in rugby of the first U-15 school sports.
In the rugby held on Thursday, Karnali came first in both male and female categories.
Karnali defeated Koshi 1-0 in the student final at Pokhara stadium. Madhesh finished third.
Karnali beat Bagmati in the women’s title clash. In the final, even though the scores were equal 1-1, Karnali won on the basis of Bagmati getting more knocks. Far West was third.
The winners were awarded by Rahep member-secretary Tanklal Ghising, State Sports Council Gandaki member-secretary Sridhar Sharma, Rahep members Rajesh Gurung and Anjan Dhamala among others.
In the two-day competition, both male and female students competed on a league-less knockout basis.
