31 May, Kathmandu. The football tournament UEFA Euro 2024, called the mini World Cup, will start on Friday.
The 17th edition of the Euro will be held from June 14 to July 14 in 10 stadiums in 10 different cities in Germany. Europe’s best 24 nations will compete in Euro 2024.
The hosts Germany will play Scotland on June 14 in the opening match of the Euros. The match will start at 12:45 PM Nepali time on Friday in Munich.
The final of the same competition will be held on July 14 at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
19 teams, including the champion Italy, who played the Euro 2020, are playing the Euro this time as well. Georgia is debuting in the Euro as a new team, while Albania, Slovenia, Serbia and Romania have also returned.
Sweden, Russia and Wales are among the big teams that failed to qualify this time. In the same way, Norway with Erlin Holland and Martin Odegaard as Justa stars also failed to qualify.
Germany and Spain have won the Euro 3 times the most so far. This time, if one of these two wins the title, it will be the maximum 4 times champion.
Euro 2024 will be played by dividing the 24 teams into 6 groups. There will be 4 teams in each group.
The competition will be played in league less knockout style. In the group stage, there will be a total of 36 matches divided into 6 groups.
The top two teams from each group will enter the last 16. Similarly, the best 4 teams out of 6 who finish third will also make it to the last 16. From the last 16 to the final, there will be 15 matches of the knockout stage and there will be a total of 51 matches in the Euro.
