30 June, Pokhara. On May 20, the Supreme Court asked for a supplementary complaint against Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane filed by the victims of Suryadarshan Cooperative in Pokhara on March 20, 2080.
But the Supreme Court has found that the police sent a reply saying ‘no such complaint has been made’ because the number registered in the district police office was mentioned wrongly.
After getting the information that the police sent a letter without any complaint, the cooperative victims staged a dharna from Wednesday morning demanding that the police office give a definite statement. District Police Office Kaski Chief SP Mohan Thapa, Inspector Vasant Kumar Sharma did not give them time throughout the day. The victims of the cooperative have alleged that the Attorney General’s office to the police were under influence to protect the Home Minister.
The Supreme Court has ordered to send a certified copy of the complaint filed against Lamichhane who committed the offense in the case of fraud (D. No. 080-c1-0426/129 dated 2080/10/22) filed by Krishna Prasad Jaisemit in Kaski regarding Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud. However, in the written form of the court order, the registration number was 080-81-0426/129. Due to the difference in the registration number, the Supreme Court did not find the document it was looking for.
Because 8 was placed in the place where ‘C’ should be in the written order, the police sent a reply to the Supreme Court through the Attorney General’s Office stating that ‘no offense has been found in the record in the registration book and the registration number does not belong to the police office’.
But the victims of Suryadarshan Cooperative have opposed Lamichhane, who is also the president of Raswap, Dipesh Pun, son of former vice president Nanda Bahadur Pun, former president Gyan Bahadur Bamjan and Nature Hub Pvt Ltd, Gorkha Media Pvt Ltd, Warisan Information Technology, Springwood Real Estate, Gorkha Group Investor, Gorkha Ayurveda Pvt Ltd and others. He suspected that the supplementary complaint was not registered by the police.
Kiran Shrestha, coordinator of the Cooperative Victims’ Sangharsh Committee, said that the complaint was not used as a supplement and the police itself was influenced. What is the registration number of the complaint lodged at the District Police Office Kaski? What is the number of ongoing cases in the district court? He asks for a letter without informing about that, which number is not available in the district police office. You will ask for something that has already been asked for,’ Shrestha said.
Ravi Lamichhane’s name is in number 1 of the complaint filed by the victims on January 22. It was found that the account of a loan of one crore rupees taken from Suryadarshan in the name of Lamichhane was settled only a year ago.
The victim demanded a comprehensive investigation saying that the person who embezzled the funds of the cooperative was outside the investigation. Pokhara metropolis asked to submit a detailed study report again. The same report was submitted to the police by the metropolis on May 27.
On August 24 last year, the police issued arrest warrants against 19 people including GB Rai on the charge of embezzling about one and a half billion from Suryadarshan Cooperative. Among them, 14 people, including the chief Nike Rai, are still absconding, while the vice president Kailash Kumar Darlami, treasurer Kumar Ramtel, former director Mahendra Bhote and Bhaviswar Aryal are in Kaski jail pending trial.
The GB group formed an ad hoc committee in Pokhara on June 1, 2065 and opened Suryadarshan Cooperative.
