22 June, Kathmandu. Aam Janata Party (AJPA) MP Prabhu Sah has said that there is a water problem in Terai Madhesh due to lack of Chure protection.
Speaking at the special time of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, he said that there has been deforestation, wild animals are no longer alive and environmental problems have arisen.
‘There is a shortage of water in Terai Madhesh. The reason for this is the illegal mining of Chure area’, he says, ‘those who are responsible for the protection of Chure are involved in exploitation. It has been found that people’s representatives at the local level are also involved in such activities.’
He alleged that the local people’s representatives and parliamentarians are involved in exploiting stolen goods and that such trend is being protected by the leading leaders of major political parties.
“In one way or another, the main leaders of the major parties are involved in this. Because the leaders have scrutinized the work of giving tickets and making candidates. I want to ask – how much share do you get from that?’
He said that the committees to be formed for the protection of Chure are also on the basis of political allocation and are distributed according to the previous budget allocation.
Sah said that in order to protect Chure, there should be an investigation on those involved in exploitation. He said that it is necessary to form a parliamentary inquiry committee for this.
