May 21, Kathmandu. Nepal Civil Aviation Authority, the regulatory body of the country’s aviation sector, has removed Nepal Airlines pilots Vijay Lama and Bhavna Pant from ‘active duty’.
The Authority has informed that they have been grounded for the duration of the investigation for violating flight safety provisions at Tribhuvan International Airport.
Nepal Airlines spokesperson Ramesh Paudel said that the directive to remove both pilots from the roster came from the authority.
Pant is the captain of the narrow body aircraft ‘Airbus 320’ while Lama is the captain of the wide body aircraft ‘Airbus 330’.
