Bardibas campus is becoming an opportunity for higher education for daughters-in-law

Mahottari No matter which class you enter, you are full of female students. It seems that the people of Bardibas located in Bardibas-14 study only the daughters and daughters of the multiple campus. Out of 1,100 students in the campus, there are more than 700 female students. This campus is located between Dhanusha in the east, Sarlahi in the west, Sindhuli in the north and Bardibas municipality in the south. This campus has recently become a place to provide higher education opportunities for daughters and sons-in-law who have missed out on education.

There is a significant number of daughters-in-law from Bardibas Ghar or Maiti in the campus and from Lalgarh, Mithila Municipality of Dhanusha. Daughters-in-law who are working in various fields and are housewives are studying in higher education after the establishment of the campus here. Geeta Khadka of Bardibas-3 Patuk could not complete her post-graduation after completing her graduation due to various reasons. He enrolled in Bardibas after his master’s studies started. Khadka is currently in the fourth semester of his master’s degree in Nepali.

Vimala Moktan of Lalgarh, Gauri Zargha, Meena Tamang of Chure and Priyanka Subedi of Bardibas are preparing to pass their graduation. All of them belong to the teaching profession. “We are teachers in the school, students in the campus”, said Priyanka Subedi, “I graduated from here, got married in Chandrapur in Rautatah, now I was not going to be able to study, but I got an environment to study with my wife.” There is a collective reaction of the students including Priyanka that the commencement of teaching at this level in Bardibas has become a blessing for us.

They say that because the campus is near their home, they have been able to join higher education. Meena Tamang, a student of the fourth semester of health studies, says, “I was able to get my degree by eating rice flour at home. “If there was no campus here, our daughters from poor economic conditions would not have been able to go abroad to study.” Meena is of the opinion that parents are reluctant to send their daughter out for higher education not only because of financial situation but also because of security sensitivity. Tej Bahadur Khadka, Head of the Campus, says that 15 of the 21 postgraduate students in the campus have daughters.

Since 2075, the campus has conducted postgraduate level teaching in Nepali and health subjects in the Faculty of Education. Bardibas Janata With the multi-purpose campus coming into operation, daughters and sons-in-law of Bardibas and the surrounding areas who are eager to get higher education have got the opportunity to study. Most of the postgraduate students on campus are of old age. After graduation, those who are working in various fields are enrolled here for postgraduate studies.

Rambabu Yadav and Mohan Majhi, who were government employees in the health sector after graduation, are now pursuing their master’s degrees in health. “We are here at work, we have the opportunity to study here,” says 40-year-old Yadav, who works in the health branch of the Bardibas city executive office, “What does age matter in education!”

The number of female students is significant not only at the postgraduate level but also at the graduate level. There are more than 700 female students out of more than 1000 students in the campus where education and commerce faculties are taught up to graduation level. At the graduate level, most of the regular students have continued their studies immediately after completing class 12. Shweta Aryal, a resident of Bardibas-2, says, “After I passed 12th, I could not study regularly as I went with my father’s job for two or three years. After I got married in Bardibas-2, I joined college and completed my graduation from here,” says Aryal. Yes, but the family’s concern for my studies allowed me to overcome it easily. Aryal, a commerce student, said that although she has given her fourth year examination, the result (result publication) is yet to come.

Parents say that since the campus is close to home, it is convenient for their daughter and daughter to study. Hari Dahal, a parent, says that since the campus is close to their home, there is an environment where one can study happily even in the midst of poverty. Students from a distance of 15 km are studying in this college. Sunita Thakur of Aurhi-7 Timkia, who completed her master’s degree from this campus, said that after deciding to study, she could not be bothered by the distance and poor economic conditions.

Thakur from the Barahi (blacksmith, blacksmith) family, who is far behind in education, health and other occasions in the Terai, traveled a distance of about 15 kilometers and completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies from this campus.

“After SLC, I wanted to study as a staff nurse, but poverty became an obstacle,” Sunita said emotionally, “However, I completed my master’s degree in the midst of poverty.” Sunitha says that even though her relatives brought marriage proposals after her graduation, her father Ramdular Thakur told her to rely on her daughter’s decision at that time and gave her an atmosphere to study. “Due to lack of wealth, my father could not fulfill my desire to study staff,” said Sunita, “but he always respected and supported my desire to study, and he never stopped me from studying and doing what I wanted.” Thakur, who dreams of becoming a staffer, has done a master’s degree in health.

This campus, which came into operation in the year 2064, has been conducting the teaching of pedagogy and commerce faculty for the undergraduate level. At the graduate level, students have been studying various subjects in these faculties. Similarly, since 2075, the campus has started teaching post-graduate courses in Nepali and health subjects under the field of education.

Khadka, the head of the campus, says that the number of students will increase even though the campus currently has limited rooms. Now there is a three-storied campus building on the land of its own name with an area of six acres. The campus has a workforce of 34 including six employees and 28 teachers. However, Khadka clarified that only nine teachers are full-time. The campus has been provided by Bardibas Municipality with 9 Bigha, 1 Kattha and 1 Dhur land. The process of registering this land in the name of the campus has progressed. Bharat Bahadur Hamal, chairman of the campus management committee, says that the campus building can be expanded in the future on this land, which is surrounded by barbed wire.

Everywhere community campus branches are falling, but in Bardibas, branches have increased. Kedar Bahadur Koirala of Bardibas-1, who has been in the teaching profession for a long time, says that due to the interest of the parents, the dedication of the teachers, the dedication of the management committee and the hard work of the students, Bardibas Janata Multiple Campus has earned its reputation.
