Kathmandu . The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supply, Damodar Bhandarisong, has received a courtesy visit from Percy Patson Chanda, the non-resident ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to Nepal.
During the meeting, Minister Bhandari said that the relations between Zambia and Nepal have been peaceful since they were established on September 10, 1986. He said that since both countries are underdeveloped and landlocked, the challenges and development goals of both countries are similar.
He said, “Especially in business, agriculture, tourism and mining industry, there are many possibilities to exchange experience between the two countries. Nepal has prioritized mining exploration and there is a lot of potential for the mining industry in Zambia and there is a possibility that Nepal will exchange cooperation with Zambia in the mining industry because of the further development of this sector in Zambia.
Minister Bhandari said, “Because of the location of Zambia, we have found that it can be an important point for the expansion of relations in the African continent. It seems that even Zambia can get social, cultural and geographical benefits from the multifaceted geography, culture and potential of Nepal. So we are eager to work together on this. May your stay here in Nepal be memorable.”
During the meeting, Chanda, the non-resident ambassador of Zambia, said that the two countries will exchange technology in mining and minerals. He asked Minister Bhandari to send Nepal’s technical team related to mining to Zambia. In addition, he also expressed the commitment that Zambia’s mining technical team will come to Nepal.
