Chitwan . Golden Eminent 2nd Chitwan Gold Cup will be held from October 3rd. The organizer Bharatpur Football Club (BFC) gave official information about the tournament through a press conference held on Sunday.
The competition will be held at the Nepal Police Academy Bharatpur training center and will continue till October 12th. 10 teams from A division, Nepal Super League and Mofusal best club will participate in the tournament. Organizer BFC, Suryapur FC, Nepal Police Club Kathmandu, Butwal Lumbini FC, Bagmati Yuva Club Sarlahi, Birganj United, Salhes FC Siraha, New Star Sunsari and Rising Star Bhumhi will participate in the tournament. Coordinator Dhruv Bhusal informed that the paper process of one more team is yet to be completed.
Asoj Suryapur FC and Bagmati Youth Club will meet in the opening match of the tournament. The opening match will be held at 3 pm. Before that, Bhusal said that the competition will be inaugurated with a grand program. The winner of the competition will receive a trophy of Rs 6 lakh and the runner-up will receive Rs 3 lakh. Similarly, the best player of the whole tournament will get 15, the best in the category will get 10 and the man of the match will get 5 thousand rupees.
Organizers estimate that around 40,000 spectators will watch the matches of the tournament live. Coordinator Bhusal informed that tickets for the first stage are 50 rupees, 100 rupees for the quarterfinals and semi-finals and 200 rupees for the finals. He said that the preparations for the competition have progressed rapidly.
Golden Eminent International is the main sponsor of the competition and Hanami International Education is the co-sponsor. Bagmati State Government, Bharatpur Metropolitan City and Chitwan District Football Association are the promoters of the tournament.
In a press conference, the president of Chitwan District Football Association Mr. Krishna Karki said that as football activities are increasing in Chitwan, the level of players is also increasing and it is necessary to hold such big competitions in Chitwan.
Prakash Rizal, the managing director of Golden Eminent, the main sponsor of the tournament, said that he is always supporting Chitwan’s football and other sports competitions and is ready to cooperate for the development of football in the future as well. Speaking on the occasion, Vinodbabu Rizal, Business Development Manager of Expert Education and Visa Services Chitwan, the ticketing partner of the tournament, expressed his happiness to cooperate in a football tournament that Chitwan can be proud of.
Meanwhile, in the same press conference, the trophy awarded to the winner of the competition was also unveiled. The first edition of Chitwan Gold Cup was conducted from August 25, 2079 to October 3, 2079. Tribhuvan Army Club won the title of the first edition.
