Pokhara. Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Surendraraj Pandey, has urged the stakeholders to speed up the work of Muglin-Pokhara road. After the delay in the expansion and upgrading of the Muglin-Pokhara road, which is the lifeline of Gandaki province, Chief Minister Pandey has given instructions to speed up the work so that the vehicles can move easily.
Chief Minister Pandey requested to pay special attention to the public complaint that the eastern section of the Muglin-Pokhara road under Prithvi Highway is now somewhat smooth, but the work on the western section has been delayed. In the discussion between the stakeholders held at the Chief Minister’s office on Sunday, Chief Minister Pandey said that if there is any problem during the construction, they will facilitate it and suggested that at least during the tourism season, there should not be any obstacle in the arrival of vehicles.
Currently, 65 percent of the work has been completed in the eastern section, while only 30 percent of the work has been completed in the western section, according to the construction companies. After the discussion of the stakeholders, it has been decided to take a lump-sum royalty on the construction materials in accordance with the law so that the amount of royalty fixed by the provincial government is not reduced by eliminating double taxation. Currently, the construction company complained that there was a problem in the work when the rate of royalty and tax was different according to the local level. The meeting has decided that the electricity authority will relocate the electric poles in the road area immediately, and since the festival time is approaching, the project office will fill the potholes in the road area to facilitate the movement of vehicles.
