Bhaktapur. Minister of Education, Science and Technology Vidya Bhattarai has given instructions to create a new curriculum by linking it with technology as an indicator of literacy.
Today, on the occasion of the 58th International Literacy Day, in a program organized at the Education and Human Resource Development Center in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, he emphasized that education without literacy and development without education is not possible, and that everything should be done to develop it in a timely manner.
“The efforts of the government alone will not eradicate illiteracy, the government works with the participation and cooperation of all stakeholders. The government is committed to providing opportunities to learn in one’s own mother tongue, for that it is necessary to create and implement the necessary policies”, said Minister Bhattarai.
On that occasion, he honored six women’s schools that teach adult women up to class 10. Astha Women’s School in Bhaktapur, Gyanjyoti Women’s School in Kathmandu Chabahil, Utprenera Women’s School in Tinkune, Naya Bazar Model Women’s School and Sadhana Women’s School in Butwal will be honored.
Similarly, the Center has honored 43-year-old Dilmaya Tamang, who passed SEE from Gyanjyoti Women’s School and is studying for a master’s degree in journalism.
Education Secretary Dr. Deepak Kafle, Chairman of National Examination Board Dr. Mahashram Sharma, Acting Director General of Education and Human Resource Development Center Jairam Adhikari and others gave their best wishes in the program. On the occasion of the day, tree plantation was also done in the center premises.
