Dang. MBBS studies are going to start at Rapti Institute of Health Sciences in Dang.
The Medical Education Commission has ensured 50 seats in the first year to the institutes that have completed the necessary preparations for conducting MBBS studies.
Students who get 75 percent scholarship in 50 seats will get to study MBBS. Professor Shyam Lamsal, registrar of the institute informed that 50 seats are guaranteed for MBBS.
He said that MBBS studies will prove to be an important milestone in the development of the institution. Lamsal has thanked all those who have helped in conducting MBBS studies. “The matter of conducting MBBS education is very important, it will prove to be a milestone in the educational program of the entire institution including Dang”, he said.
After about 7 years, the institution got permission from the Commission for teaching MBBS. Currently, B.Sc. and B.N.S. Nursing and MD studies are ongoing in the institution.
Earlier, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had instructed to start MBBS program at Rapti Institute of Health Sciences.
UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel also took initiative on his part to conduct MBBS teaching. Under the leadership of Secretary General Pokharel, Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Minister of Health, Minister of Education, Secretary of the Ministry and Vice-Chairman of Medical Education Commission, Vice-Chancellor of Rapti Health Sciences Academy Dr. The meeting was held with the participation of Vikas Lamichhane, Registrar Professor Shyam Lamsal.
After the Prime Minister immediately arranged the necessary budget and directed the MBBS and other educational programs to be carried forward in both institutions, the work progressed rapidly.
