Kathmandu. Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar has again received international recognition. The Asian Football Confederation has given permission to organize an international football tournament.
With the National Sports Council (Rakhep) demanding an official response from the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) from AFC, a report was received from AFC that Dasharath Stadium is eligible.
Raising various questions, the FC had said that Dasharath Stadium was unfit to host international level football tournaments for some time. After AFC declared the stadium unfit for international competitions, Rakhep started maintenance and protection of the stadium from last April.
Meanwhile, AFC representatives inspected and observed the Dashrath Stadium on July 9 and gave a report that the standards were met, ANFA informed.
With the report that Dasharath Stadium is qualified for international competition, a match will be played between Bhutan’s Paro FC and Nepal’s Church Boys United on July 29 as part of the AFC Challenge League qualifying playoffs.
After the AFC gave a report last April that the stadium was unfit for international competition, Nepal played the second round of the World Cup qualifiers, which was supposed to be held in Nepal on April 8, at the Bahrain ground. On May 24, the match against UAE was also held in Saudi Arabia.
