Morang. The Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Kumar Karki, has expressed his commitment that the children of the province will not be deprived of vaccination.
While announcing the province’s complete vaccination campaign organized here today by the provincial health ministry, he urged and instructed the ministry, health workers and women’s health volunteers not to deprive children of their right to receive all 13 vaccinations in 16 months.
Chief Minister Karki expressed his happiness that the province was able to ensure complete vaccination and declared sustainability, and congratulated and wished everyone for being able to place the name of the province in the national statistics and map.
He expressed the commitment of the government to start the service from next July with a mobile van with special health workers to check the health of citizens at their doorsteps.
“With the help of all of them, the province has been declared fully vaccinated. Now there is a need for everyone to act responsibly in their area to reduce child marriage, untouchability, child mortality, and maternal mortality,” he said.
Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Roshan Pokharel, emphasized that all vaccinations should be given to children at the specified time to prevent epidemics.
He handed over the certificate that 137 municipalities in 14 districts of the province have been vaccinated to Radhika Thapalia, secretary of the provincial health ministry, and Gyan Bahadur Basnet, head of the health directorate.
