Lalitpur. General Secretary of Nepal Communist Party (UML) Shankar Pokharel said that democracy and human rights cannot be strengthened by weakening political parties.
At the 25th foundation day ceremony of National Human Rights and Social Justice Forum Nepal (Human Rights Alliance) held today in Khokna, Lalitpur, he said that democracy, human rights and people’s rights cannot be ensured if political parties are weak. He insisted that the state and political parties should be strong to provide protection to the people.
UML leader and former minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal said that along with the changes in the system in the society, the system of human rights is also changing.
Ghanshyam Pandey, in charge of Human Rights Alliance, held the opinion that the Alliance should focus on establishing the economic, social, cultural and environmental rights of citizens.
UML central member and in-charge of Lalitpur metropolis Baburam Thapa said that since human rights are also an integral part of peace, it should be made more effective.
Ganga Kasju, the founder of Alliance, emphasized that the organization should work seriously on behalf of citizens to establish human rights in every field.
