32 May, Kathmandu. Chatur Bahadur Chand, President of Nepal Cricket Association (CAN), has claimed that they are trying to mislead the Parliament by presenting false issues.
He claims that this has reduced the dignity of Nepal cricket along with Parliament and MPs.
CPN-UML MP Bhim Acharya demanded the formation of a commission of inquiry saying that there were irregularities in the can in the Parliament meeting on Wednesday. He demanded to form a commission of inquiry saying that there were complaints like selling tickets and jerseys illegally, trying to smuggle people.
In a statement on Friday, CAN President Chand said that some individuals and organizations are trying to create confusion. ‘It seems that by raising false and fabricated points in Nepal’s dignified parliament, which are not even remotely true, an honorable member of parliament is trying to put the honorable parliament in a shambles and also bring the party he represents into controversy.’
He complained that the country is playing the World Cup and the players and officials, members and employees of the association are working round the clock and that their morale may drop.
He said, ‘Nepal Cricket Association is clear that if anyone commits any illegal act against the interests of cricket in the name of Cricket Association, they should be punished according to the law.’
