32 May, Kathmandu. Nepali shooting athlete Sushmita Nepal is going to play in Paris Olympics 2024 in France from next month.
Nepal’s Sushmita has been selected through a wild card for the Paris Olympics to be held from July 26 to August 11.
The International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) said that Sushmita was selected from the IOC’s quota place and she will compete in the women’s 10m air rifle.
After Sushmita received a wild card from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the Paris Olympics, the number of players from Nepal who will play in the 33rd edition of the Summer Olympics has reached six.
Earlier, Shantu Shrestha of table tennis has qualified for the Olympics by passing the selection stage of the South Asian region.
Similarly, Prince Dahal of badminton, Santoshi Shrestha of athletics and Duwana Lama of swimming have qualified for the Paris Olympics through universality quota.
Shantu has become the third Nepali athlete to reach the Olympics after passing the qualifying stage. Earlier, Sangan Vaidya (2004) and Deepak Bishta (2008) from Taekwondo had passed the qualifying stage and played in the Olympics.
