32 May, Kathmandu. 2 policemen who were deployed in the rescue of the khachhad trapped in the suspension bridge over the Karnali river have been awarded.
Police Head Office and Karnali Province Police Office awarded two policemen who were involved in the rescue separately.
Asai Ramsingh Faral of Kalekanda Achham and constable Gangaram Chowdhury of the same office are among the awardees. DIG of Karnali Province Rabindra KC said that they were recognized in the records and rewarded with cash.
Similarly, they were also awarded by the police headquarters. According to the police head office, they were rewarded for their bravery.
On 27th of June, 13 children were trapped in the middle of the suspension bridge over the Karnali River in Chiltada, Panchdeval Municipality-9, Achham. Among those rescued, 2 khachads were dead and 11 khachdas were still alive.
This suspension bridge connects Far West and Karnali provinces. The bridge connects Panchadeval Binayak Municipality 9 of Achham and Athabis Municipality 4 of Dailekh.
