31 May, Kathmandu. The coach of the German club Borussia Dortmund, Edin Terzic, has left the club.
After Terjic asked to cancel his contract with Dortmund with immediate effect, the club also agreed to it.
German club Dortmund has agreed to Terjic’s offer after discussions.
Under the coaching of Terjic, Dortmund reached the final of the European Champions League 2023-24. But Dortmund lost to Real Madrid in the final at Wembley.
The 41-year-old Terjic said he had a discussion with the club’s senior officials after the match at Wembley and felt that a new era should begin at the club after spending nine years in various roles at Dortmund.
He wished Dortmund success and said he would meet again.
Terjic started his coaching career in 2010 from Dortmund’s academy. After 2013, he worked as an assistant to Slaven Bilic in the Turkish club Besiktas.
He returned to Dortmund in 2018 as Lucien Favre’s assistant. After Favre’s firing in December 2020, Terzic became the interim coach until the end of that season. He then became the club’s general director. Since 2022, Terjic has been the coach of Dortmund.
