Kathmandu. Two senior domestic film actresses, Vasandhura Bhushal and Chaityadevi, sat on dharna at Maitighar on Thursday, demanding the return of the money deposited in the cooperative.
These two actresses have also participated in the third phase of dharna of cooperative victims which has been going on for 14 months in Maitighar Mandla. They sat on dharna for 2 hours in the hot sun of Thursday afternoon.
Actress Bhusal said that Chaityadevi, another actress Bhuvan Chand and 14 members of their family, including herself, had been embezzled by Ichcharaj Tamang, the president of the civil cooperative. He says that the savings of 4 people in Kantipur Savings and Loan Cooperative Society have not been returned.
She said that the Bhuvan-Chaitya-Basundhara Foundation, which was opened by civil cooperatives for social services, did not get back the money of 14 lakh rupees. The foundation has been honoring a special person every year. He says that if the cooperative does not give money, he is going to do it once in 2 years this year.
