31 June, Pokhara. Bagmati province became the first in table tennis under the U-15 school sports competition held at the stadium in Pokhara. Bagmati has ‘clean swept’ gold in table tennis which includes 5 events.
Bagmati, which won 2 golds on the second and last day, won 3 golds on the first day. Won 3 silver and 2 bronze medals. Bagmati won 3 gold and 3 silver medals in singles on Wednesday.
Koshi who came second got 2 silver and 2 bronze. Lumbini came third with 4 bronzes. The host Gandaki won 2 bronze medals. Jaysnu Maharjan of Bagmati province won 3 gold medals in U-15 school sports table tennis on Thursday. He won gold in student singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
Jaysnu defeated Sushant Mehta of Koshi in the set of 8-11, 11-5, 11-2 and 11-6 in the student singles final at the Covered Hall in Pokhara Stadium. Gautam Tamang from Koshi and Suvin Chhetri from Lumbini came third.
Bagmati’s Narmada Khaitu became the champion in female singles. In the title fight, Narmada defeated Sulekha Thakur of Koshi in sets of 11-9, 4-11, 11-5 and 13-11. Bagmati’s Surami Shakya and Arshana Maharjan came third jointly.
