31st June, Janakpurdham. Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal is going to vote for the new leadership today. The election committee said that voting will be held from 12 noon to 3 pm today.
Upendra Yadav has been elected to the post of president unopposed. The remaining positions of the 201-member new working committee will be voted on from this afternoon.
Nominations were registered from 10:30 am to 11:30 am on Wednesday under the First National Convention of JSP Nepal Unity held at Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Culture Center in Janakpurdham from Monday.
There are three nominations for one co-chairman. Former Chief Minister of Madhesh Province Lal Babu Raut, Rakam Chemjong and federal MP Rajkishore Yadav have nominated for co-chairmanship.
Similarly, 23 people, 17 men and 6 women, have nominated for 5 vice presidents. On the men’s side, Mrigendra Kumar Singh Yadav, Harinarayan Yadav, Ang Dendi Sherpa, Vidyut Bajracharya, Arjun Thapa, Govind Chaudhary, Shivlal Thapamar, Saroj Kumar Yadav, Mohammad Khalid, Prakash Adhikari, Bacha Raut Ahir, Surendra Prasad Kurmi, Rambachan Ahir Yadav, Mandhwaj Balon, Amresh Narayan Jha, Rajan KC and Suman Kumar Chaudhary have registered their candidature.
Similarly, Rekha Yadav, Leeladevi Sitaula, Shobha Devi, Suni Lama, Savita Yadav and Radha Thapa have been nominated.
Six candidates have been nominated for two general secretaries. Bom Bahadur Darlami Magar (Tribal), Ram Kumar Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Deepak Karki, Manish Kumar Suman and Ashok Kumar Yadav have been nominated for the post of General Secretary.
Similarly, the joint secretary-general Dr. Surendra Kumar Yadav, Rambabu Prasad Yadav, Ram Kishore Prasad Yadav, Rajkumar Rai, Yogendra Rai Yadav, Shailendra Prasad Sah, Suresh Kumar Mandal, Dr. Jayaprakash Rai Yadav and Jairam Yadav and on the women’s side, Sitakumari Yadav, Vinita Kumari Yadav and Nirmala Yadav have been nominated.
Renukumari Yadav, Balram Mahato and Sanjay Kumar Yadav have filed their candidatures for treasurer. 34 people have nominated for secretary. A large number of nominations have been submitted to members in various clusters, including open ones.
1 thousand 349 delegates have been selected from all over the country including one hundred observers for the convention.
