22 June, Biratnagar. Two people in the jeep died when the Bolero jeep was swept away by the flood in the Ratuwa river.
On Monday evening, a jeep going from Damak to Mangsebung was swept away by a sudden flood while crossing the Ratuwa river on the unpaved road section inside Damak Larumba in Chulachuli Rural Municipality-5 Chapeti of Ilam.
According to the District Police Office, Ilam, Sarmila Wanem, 30, of Mangsebung rural municipality-5 of Ilam and Nihang Limbu, 3 years old, son of Niru Limbu of Mangsebung-3, died when the jeep was swept away by the flood. Niru Limbu is injured. He is being treated.
When the double cab bolero car number Lu1ch 9491 was swept away by the river, three people including the driver jumped to save their lives.
The police have detained the driver of the vehicle, 22-year-old Netrahang Limbu.
