18 June, Kathmandu. The Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission has filed a case against 8 people for corruption during road construction through the consumer committee.
The authority has filed a case in the special court on Friday against 8 people including the then chief administrative officer of Mugu’s Soru rural municipality Birendra Malla, engineer Prakash Acharya.
The Authority has also registered a case against Assistant Sub-Engineer Vikram Budha, President of Consumer Committee Hasta Bahadur Bumi, Treasurer Dhauli Kami, Secretary Keval Budha.
Similarly, Soru village executive member and monitoring committee coordinator Dalbir Sarki and the then chairman of Ward No. 7 Rajendra Bumi have also been made defendants by the authority.
In the fiscal year 2077/78, they have been assigned to Ward No. Soru Rural Municipality of Mugu. The authority has claimed that there were irregularities in the construction of the road in the Dakch-Khyalch road construction project on the 7th with the connivance of the officials of the consumer committee and also the technicians.
According to the authority, the width was kept less than the actual one, payment was made based on fake report and the construction contract was not performed. The authority has demanded that 1,372,000 people be imprisoned and fined.
