18 June, Gulmi. The Ridi-Tamghas road section has been closed again for a month from today. The road has been closed due to the upgradation and paving work.
District Administration Office Gulmi issued a notification and informed that the road will be closed from 18th May to 16th June from 10 am to 4 am and from 10 pm to 4 am. The district administration office has requested to travel using alternative roads during this time period.
Under the Madan Bhandari highway, the work of tarring along with road upgrading is going on in the 25 km area from Ridi to Raja of the Tamghas-Ridi road section. The road has been closed since last March. In some parts of the road, there is still work to be done, such as digging rocks and adjusting the grade of the road.
As the old road becomes narrow due to the increase in traffic, the 45 km road section from Ridi to Tamghas is being extended. Under the same plan, in the first phase, 25 kilometers of road from Ridi to Raja will be upgraded and paved.
Parallel Elite JV has been working on the road. About 22 dozers have been used for cutting and upgrading work on the road. Rakesh Kumar Paswan, engineer of Parallel Elite JV, said that 70 percent of the cutting work on the highway has been completed.
The road expansion work agreed on on February 28, 2079 is due to be completed by February 25, 2082. A road widening contract has been signed at a cost of 1 billion 50 million 48 lakh 32 thousand 959 rupees.
According to the Madan Bhandari road project, 35 percent physical progress and 30 percent financial progress have been achieved by the end of April.
