18 June, Kathmandu. Tribhuvan University has published the academic calendar of undergraduate and postgraduate level.
On Thursday, by calling the representatives of 20 different student organizations to the Vice-Chancellor’s office, the University announced the academic calendar and asked for their commitment for its implementation.
According to the academic calendar, the result will be published within 3 to 4 months after taking the exam in the semester system.
What is in the proposed calendar?
According to the calendar proposed by Tri University for the academic year 2081, the time for filling the undergraduate application form for the faculties of Agriculture and Forestry, Engineering, Forestry, Science and Technology under the semester will be from the third week of July to the second week of August.
The same academic calendar will be applicable for the semesters of Law, Humanities and Sociology and Management Faculty. The entrance exam of these faculties will be held in the third week of August. Admission will open in the fourth week of August and the first semester will start from the first week of October.
The first semester examination will start on 3rd January 2081 and the result will be published on 1st Baisakh 2082.
The studies of the second semester will start from the 2nd of January. According to the university, the third semester will start from June 2, 2082 and the fourth semester will start from November 3, 2082.
The fifth semester will start from 1st June 2083. The sixth semester 2083 November 1, the seventh 2084 Baisakh 2 and the eighth semester will start from October 4, 2084.
Under the science and technology faculty of the annual program, BSc General, BTech Food, Pedagogy, Humanities and Sociology, FHSS, BA, BSW and FOM, BBS first year admissions under the management faculty will run from the third week of July to the second week of August.
According to Trivi, the classes will start from the fourth week of August and the examination form will be opened in the fourth week of Chait 2082. The first year studies will end in the first week of May 2082. It has been mentioned in the academic calendar that the exam will be published in the fourth week of May and the results will be published in the second week of October 2082.
According to the postgraduate academic session 2081 offered by TRI, the application form for the first semester will be opened in November.
The university has fixed the time for the entrance exam and admission in the month of January. It is mentioned in the proposed calendar of the university that studies will start from January 1st, examination will be conducted from Baisakh 4th, 2082 and results will be published on October 1st.
The study of the second semester will begin on 3rd June 2082, the study of the third semester will begin on 1st November 2082 and the study of the fourth semester will begin on 4th Baisakh 2083.
According to the university, this calendar is applicable to all postgraduate level faculties except the Institute of Medicine.
The university asked the students for a commitment
The University has proposed a new calendar and asked for a commitment from the student organizations to implement it. On Thursday at the Vice Chancellor’s office, the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Rector of Tri University proposed a new calendar to 20 different student organizations and asked for their commitment to support its implementation.
Trivi Rector Prof. Dr. Khadak KC said ‘We have proposed this calendar to all the dean’s offices. They are working on it. After they brought it, the commitment of the student organizations was also sought.’
Dujang Sherpa, Central President of the Union of Universities, has promised to support the implementation of the academic calendar of the University. He said, ‘There will be no objection on our part for the implementation of the new calendar and the appointment of qualified teaching staff through the Tertiary Services Commission.’
Naresh Rokaya, Central General Secretary of ANERASWA, said that they will cooperate in implementing the new calendar, and that the elections of the SWA should also be implemented in the calendar. He said, ‘The date of the Swabiyu elections should also be fixed in the calendar and our demand is that the Swabiyu elections should be held every two years.
He demanded to publish the report of the committee formed to study the missing answer sheet.
Pancha Sinle, the central president of Akhil Krantikari, has promised that there will never be an obstacle in the work of university reform. She said, ‘We will never have any obstacle or any kind of objection to the work done for the improvement of the university. There will be support to implement this calendar.’
Nepal Samajwadi Vidyarthi, Nepal Revolutionary Students Association and other student organizations have pledged to support the implementation of the new academic calendar and emphasized that the appointment should be based on merit.
Answer sheet test at state level
The answer book will now be tested at the state level. Trivika Registrar Prof. Dr. Kedar Rizal said that the work is being done to check the answer sheets collected at the state level and send only the marks of the students to the examination control office.
He said, ‘The system of coding and decoding the answer sheets of the students collected at the regional level and sending the results to the bulk has already started.’ He said that the answer book of the exam which ended on 4th June will not come to Kirtipur Balkhu.
In addition to announcing the new calendar on Thursday, the University also took suggestions from the student organizations on exam-related matters.
Registrar Rizal said that the results of the remaining examinations of the students will be made public within June. After that, according to the regular university calendar, work is being done to announce the results within three months of the examination.
Registrar Rizal also said that examination center will not be assigned based on payment of money. He said that they will make certain standards for that, give first priority to individual campuses and then community campuses and make examination centers.
Making Equivalence Simplifications
Trivi has asked for complaints and suggestions through email to facilitate the distribution of equivalency certificates.
The working group formed by the University to formulate criteria for the appointment of staff and professors on the basis of expertise has submitted a report on Thursday. According to the university, it will be finalized after studying the report and collecting suggestions from professors.
Similarly, the study committee formed for the restructuring of the University has also submitted its report and is ready to proceed according to its study, comprehensive discussion and suggestions. Dr. Khadg KC said.
To conduct an international audit of the university
TRI is preparing to conduct an international audit from next year. Rector Prof. Dr. Khadg KC informed that preparations are being made to prepare the report of the university to the institutions listed at the international level.
He said that a report will be prepared every year on how many students have been admitted, how many have passed, how many articles have been published, the quality of the articles and where the university has reached.
