May 17, Kathmandu. Dujang Sherpa, president of the Nepal Students Union, has protested that he was arbitrarily appointed to the SWVU Council.
Swaviyu presidents of 57 campuses who won from the union have protested against the president’s decision by issuing a statement. It is mentioned in the statement that Sherpa has nominated people close to him to the Swaviyu Council.
Subas Poudel, a member of the Central Committee of the Union, informed that the President Sherpa has voluntarily nominated the Council of the Union from the convention of the representatives of the Union of Nations elected on behalf of the Union of Nations in various university campuses, contrary to the law.
Dissatisfied Swaviyu presidents have stated that President Sherpa’s action is undemocratic, illegal and beyond the jurisdiction of the president. In the statement, it is demanded to call a session of the Council of Swabiyu and withdraw the decision of the President.
