16 June, Gulmi. A youth was injured due to electric shock in Gulmi. The injured person is 16-year-old Vijay Periyar of Chhatradeo Rural Municipality-8 Neta, Arghakhanchi district.
Deputy Superintendent of Police of District Police Office Gulmi Shankar Pokharel said that Arjun Thapa, a resident of Resunga Municipality-6 Netakhark in Gulmi district, was electrocuted while picking the fruit of a peach tree in his garden on Thursday morning.
The police said that while picking the leaves, he touched the wire of the high-tension electric line on the tree and was electrocuted, injuring his right hand, left leg and chest. Pariyar was brought to Gulmi Hospital for treatment.
After general treatment at Gulmi Hospital, Prabhash Palpa was referred to Lumbini Medical College for further treatment, police said. Pokharel said that the condition of the injured Pariyar is moderate.
