17 June, Gulmi. In Madane rural municipality-1 Aglung, couples who get married after coming of age and good daughters-in-law who stay in the village and take care of their mother-in-law have been honored.
Ward President Sushil Chand said that couples who have completed 20 years of marriage and good daughters-in-law have been honored for social awareness under the educational motivation program.
Ward president Chand said that this program was organized to reduce child marriage with the main objective of ‘Marriage after 20 years’.
Three newlyweds and 10 daughters-in-law were honored in the program.
Ward president Chand said that when husbands went abroad for work and wives left home to live in the city, there was a problem in taking care of the elderly members in the village.
The ward also honored those who contributed to the ward in various categories including the best teachers, best farmers, best students, best employees and best social organizations.
Apart from this, 10,000 cash was awarded to the best student in SEE, 5,000 to the best in class 8 and 3,000 to the best student in class 5.
‘We have been honored by the ward for academic and social awareness,’ said the ward president Chand, ‘it is expected that there will be activity and public awareness from such programs.’
