16 June, Kathmandu. Chairman of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence, Budhanilkanth, the meeting of ‘opposition parties’ has also participated in the meeting of the ruling partner party CPN United Samajwadi Party, Madhav Nepal.
Deuba called a meeting to discuss contemporary politics as well as the government of Madhesh province.
Metmani Choudhary, leader of Madhav Nepal, United Samajwadi Party leader, Upendra Yadav, President of Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, Mahanth Thakur, President of Democratic Samajwadi Party and Sharad Singh Bhandari, leader of the Democratic Samajwadi Party participated in the meeting at Deuba residence.
In Madhesh, CPN-UML and Maoist Center withdrew their support to Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav on 30 Baisakh. Chief Minister Yadav has not taken the vote of confidence.
Yadav became the Chief Minister from JSP Nepal. Jaspa Nepal has been left out of the government of the union and it is in the minority in Madhesh.
UML is the first party in Madhesh with 23 provincial MPs. There are 22 provincial MPs from Congress, 16 from JSP Nepal, 13 from Janmat, 9 from Democratic Socialists, 8 from Maoists and 7 from Unified Socialists.
The support of 54 MPs is required to form a government in the 107-member provincial assembly.
