Chitwan. Ratna Nagar Municipality of Chitwan has given summer holidays to schools after the heat has become too hot. The municipality has decided to close all community and institutional schools under the city for four days due to extreme heat and ‘loo’ affecting the learning activities and health of children.
According to City Education Officer Narayan Prasad Wagle, holidays have been given to all schools from the 14th to the 18th of June. The leave was given according to the municipal level decision of the 13th. 15th is the public holiday of Republic Day and 19th is Saturday. The temperature in Chitwan has now reached 39 degrees Celsius. Due to extreme heat, the life of common people in this region has become difficult.
Ratna Nagar Municipality has also suspended the IPV vaccination campaign due to the additional heat. According to Narayan Prasad Wagle, Acting Chief Administrative Officer of the municipality, the vaccination program which was scheduled to be conducted from May 13th to 18th in community and institutional schools and health institutions in all wards of the municipality has been postponed due to the heat.
