Kathmandu. A high impact community development project has been inaugurated in Dang district of Nepal, built with the help of India. Nehru of Government of India under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’. 1.76 Crore, the school building of Shree Bal Janata Secondary School in Lamhi Municipality of Dang, which was built with financial support, was opened on 11th June by Minister of Social Development of Lumbini Province Ratna Bahadur Khatri, Head of District Coordination Committee Nityanand Sharma, Mayor of Lamhi Municipality Jograj Chaudhary and First Secretary of Indian Embassy, Kathmandu Avinash Kumar Singh inaugurated it jointly.
Similarly, Nehru of the Government of India under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’. The school building of Shree Padmodaya Public Model Secondary School in Ghorahi sub-metropolitan city of Dang, which was built with financial assistance of 2.87 crores, was jointly inaugurated by District Coordination Committee Chief Nityanand Sharma, Mayor of Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan Municipality Narulal Chaudhary and First Secretary of Indian Embassy, Kathmandu, Avinash Kumar Singh. . Political representatives, government officials, social workers, school management representatives, teachers, parents and students were also present in the program.
The Government of India’s grant assistance under the ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ was used for the construction of laboratory, laboratory equipment, furniture and a two-storey school building along with other necessary facilities for Shree Bal Janata Secondary School in Lamhi Municipality. Similarly, the financial assistance of the Government of India was used for the construction of a two-storey school building along with other facilities required by Sri Padmodaya Public Model Secondary School located in Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City of Dang. Under the agreement between the Government of India and the Government of Nepal, this project was promoted as a high impact community development project. This project was implemented through District Coordination Committee, Dang.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Lumbini Province, Head of District Coordination Committee, Mayor of Dang Sub-Metropolitan Municipality and Mayor of Lamhi Municipality praised the continuous development assistance provided by the Government of India in the priority areas.
The new school building will be useful in providing quality education to the students studying in Sri Bal Janata Secondary School and Sri Padmodaya Public Model Secondary School in Dang and it will create a better environment for learning. It will also contribute to the development of education in this area.
Since 2003, the Government of India has initiated more than 551 high impact community development projects in various areas of Nepal and has completed 490 projects. Among these, there are 61 projects in different areas of Lumbini province, of which 6 projects are in Dang. In addition, the Government of India has already provided 1009 ambulances and 300 school buses as gifts to various hospitals, health posts and educational institutions of Nepal, out of which 164 ambulances and 43 school buses have been given as gifts to Lumbini Province. In this, 19 ambulances and 5 school buses have been provided to Dang district.
Being close neighbors, there is extensive and multi-regional cooperation between India and Nepal. The implementation of these projects reflects the fact that the Government of India is always ready to join hands in the efforts undertaken by the Government of Nepal for the upliftment of the Nepali people and for the expansion of infrastructure in priority areas, especially in the educational sector of Nepal.
