Kathmandu. The construction of a film studio will be started at Banepa in Kavrepalanchok. Finance Minister Barshman Pun said this while presenting the budget for the financial year 2081-82 at the joint meeting of the Federal Parliament on Tuesday.
It is also mentioned in the budget statement that an international film city will be built in Dolakha in public and private partnership. Finance Minister Pun has announced that a budget of 7.35 billion will be allocated to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology for the implementation of these programs.
Recently, the District Forest Office has given ownership of the land to the Film Development Board to build a studio in Banepa. This project was put in the show-case at the investment conference held in Baisakh to make a film city in Dolakha.
Mauritius and Chinese investors have shown interest for Film City.
