Tech giant Google will soon start manufacturing its Pixel smartphones in India. Google is preparing to manufacture phones at Foxconn’s factory located in Tamil Nadu BBChas mentioned.
The company has also prepared to produce drones separately in the same state.
India is now becoming a key destination for companies looking to diversify their supply lines outside of China amid geopolitical tensions with the West.
Last year, Google announced the Pixel series of smartphones in India, starting with the Pixel 8.
India is a priority market for Pixel smartphones. And we’re committed to making our hardware and software available to people around the world,” Google said in a blog post.
Alphabet’s Google and Foxconn have signed a deal to manufacture Pixel smartphones at a factory in Tamil Nadu.
Foxconn currently has two factories in Tamil Nadu. He assembles Apple iPhones in a factory near the city of Chennai.
