23 June, Kathmandu. Nepal’s Yogendra Bista will compete in the 13th Asian Kurash Championship. Bisht will compete in the men’s under 81 kg weight category in the tournament to be held in Tehran, Iran, from June 6 to 10.
This is Yogendra’s first participation in the Asian competition. Yogendra won the gold in the first South Asian Kuransha tournament held in Kerala, India last April.
Along with Yogendra, Manoj Acharya and acting president of Nepal Kuransha Sangh Jeevan Rai are also going to Iran. Manoj will participate in the trainer seminar and Congress of Life Asian Kuransha. Both programs will be held during the competition. The team will leave for Iran on Thursday.
National Sports Council Member Secretary Tanklal Ghising bid farewell to the team during a program on Wednesday. On that occasion, member secretary Ghisingh said that the first face of the game is the player and said that Kuransha Association should expand the game and emphasize on the production of players.
