Kathmandu. The district court of Kathmandu has allowed film director Sudarshan Thapa, who was arrested in a case related to the financial transactions of the film ‘Prasad 2’, to be detained for 2 days for investigation.
According to District Police Complex Kathmandu Spokesman and SP Navraj Adhikari, the court extended the deadline by 2 days and allowed the investigation.
Director Thapa was arrested from the sets on Monday afternoon when he was about to start shooting for the second phase of his upcoming film ‘Ravayan’. After his arrest, he was kept in the Buddhist police circle.
Producers Sudarshan Basnet and Jack Shrestha filed a complaint of fraud and criminal treachery at the District Police Complex, Kathmandu on July 10, saying that they had cheated Rs 150 million by showing the film in the country and abroad without their consent. Thapa is also the director of Prasad 2.
The shooting of the film has been stopped after the arrest of director Thapa. Director Thapa has directed films such as ‘Chankhe Shankhe Pankhe’, ‘Prem Geet’, ‘Ma Asi Geet Guychu’, ‘Ma Asi Geet Guychu 2’, ‘Ajha Bhi’, ‘Prasad 2’, ‘Samhalinka Kehbi Man’ and others.
