Kathmandu. Counting of votes for 542 Lok Sabha seats in India is going on. The political future of 14 artists is at stake in this election. Among them, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is the most popular.
Kangana who contested for the first time from Himachal’s Mandi seat is leading by 50,498 votes (till noon). In an interview, she said that if she wins the election, she will retire from films.
Apart from Kangana, actor Arun Govil, who came into limelight after playing the role of Ram in the television series ‘Ramayana’, is contesting elections from Meerut on a BJP ticket.
In the initial trend, he was leading from the Meerut seat, but now he is trailing Samajwadi Party candidate Sunita Verma by 2,567 votes (as of mid-day).
Hema Malini is leading from Mathura seat by 48 thousand votes. Manoj Tiwari is ahead by 10,141 votes from the North East Delhi seat (till noon).
South star Suresh Gopi was lagging behind in the counting of votes in Kerala’s Thrissur seat. But now they are taking the lead. Ravi Kishan is leading from Gorakhpur seat by 8 thousand 90 votes. Shatrughan Sinha was behind from Asansol seat but now he is ahead. BJP’s candidate from this seat is SS Ahluwalia.
Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh is an independent candidate from Karakat seat in Bihar. The BJP had given him a ticket against Shatrughan Sinha from Asansol in West Bengal, but he withdrew the ticket. Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirhua’ is a candidate from Azamgarh.
Kangana contested the election for the first time. She has worked in as many as 42 films. Kangana also started the production house Manikarnika Films in 2020. She has received Padma Shri, 4 National Awards and 5 Filmfare Awards.
