Kathmandu. The head of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Nepal, Michael Kropt, has said that he is ready for cooperation in developing Kathmandu Metropolitan City as a creative city of film.
During the observation of the ‘Skills Fair’ being conducted in Tundikhel, he visited the vice-chairman of the Urban Planning Commission. According to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, he expressed such a desire while talking to Sumannar Singh Rajbhandari.
‘You can also work in school education within the program of Film City. In addition to this, more programs can also be conducted in cooperation,’ said Croft, ‘Kathmandu has many possibilities for creative industry identification, development and expansion. These possibilities should be linked with the improvement of the living standards of the local residents along with the identity, pride and prosperity of the metropolitan city.
During the conversation, Vice President Rajbhandari said that the Metropolitan Corporation has prioritized the work of connecting skills with self-employment. ‘The skill fair is our departure point. We are planning to implement more plans to update knowledge and skills, to connect skills with employment and self-employment,’ he said.
During the observation, Croft became interested in sculpture and painting training. Shailendra Jha, a member of the Urban Planning Commission along with the vice-chairman of the commission, Santosh Giri, International Relations Advisor, Sudeep Dhakal, a member of the Skill Fair Steering Committee, and Devendra KC, the employment coordinator, briefed him on the issues during the fair and the training conducted at the fair.
