Kathmandu. The government has announced that the landowners affected by the construction of the power transmission line will be given the same shares as the citizens affected by the project.
On Tuesday, Finance Minister Varshman Pun, while presenting the budget statement for the financial year 2080/81 in the Parliament, said that such an arrangement would be made.
“Separate portion of the land required for the right of way of the transmission line will be maintained and the landowners will be made to participate in the same share as the citizens affected by the power project,” he said.
Until now, compensation was given to the owners of the land to be acquired for the construction of the transmission line, but there was no policy of giving shares in the project.
