Kathmandu. The fourth tribal film festival will be held in Kathmandu from May 23rd. The list of films to be screened at the festival was also announced at a press conference held in Kathmandu.
Twelve films will be screened as the opening film of the three-day festival. Films participating in the festival will be awarded in eight different categories.
The best feature film will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 20,000, the best documentary with Rs 10,000 and the best short film with Rs 10,000. 35,000 rupees will be given to the public choice awardee.
The festival features Limbu language film ‘Sugup’, Tamang language ‘Darwung’, Gurung language ‘Markli’, Magar language ‘Ros’, Tharu language ‘Jitiya 2’, Rajvanshi language ‘Mok’, Bhujel’s ‘Birth to Death’, four films from Pratishthan and Norway. The film ‘Indigenous Police’ is going to be screened.
It is said that tribal original food stalls, tribal costumes, photo exhibition, tribal ramp walk, cultural program with tableaux of different castes will also be organized in the festival.
It is said that the festival, which was previously affected by the corona epidemic, will continue from this time.
